Ingredients

For the Stir Fry
  • 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups mixed vegetables (bell peppers, broccoli, carrots, etc.)
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with cornstarch, soy sauce, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix until the beef is well coated.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat.
Cooking
  1. Add the beef to the pan and stir-fry until browned, about 3-5 minutes. Once browned, remove the beef from the pan and set aside.
  2. In the same pan, add the remaining tablespoon of oil, then add the minced garlic and ginger. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Toss in the mixed vegetables and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until they are tender-crisp.
  4. Return the cooked beef to the pan, pour in the oyster sauce, and mix well to combine all ingredients.
  5. Cook for an additional 2 minutes, stirring frequently to ensure everything is heated through.
  6. Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles for a complete meal.

Notes

Ingredient substitutions: Swap beef sirloin for chicken, tofu, or shrimp for a different protein option. Use whatever mixed vegetables you have on hand—snap peas, zucchini, or snow peas work well too! Optional variations: Try adding a sprinkle of sesame seeds or chopped green onions for added flavor and crunch. For spice lovers, a dash of red pepper flakes can elevate the dish. Storage or reheating tips: Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave for quick meals or in a pan for an even better texture.
