Ingredients

Cake Base
  • 1 package Chocolate cake (moist) Prepared according to package instructions
Pudding Mixture
  • 1 package Instant pudding mix (chocolate or vanilla)
  • 2 cups Milk To mix with pudding
Layers
  • 1 jar Hot fudge sauce Generously poured on layers
  • 1 container Cool Whip (or whipped cream) Spread on fudge layer
  • 1 package Oreo cookies Crumble for topping and layering
  • 1 pack Gummy worms (optional) For decoration

Method

Preparation
  1. Prepare the chocolate cake according to package instructions and let it cool completely.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the instant pudding mix and milk until well combined. Set aside to thicken.
Assembly
  1. In a serving dish, crumble half of the cooled chocolate cake into the bottom layer.
  2. Layer half of the pudding mixture over the crumbled cake.
  3. Pour a generous layer of hot fudge sauce on top of the pudding.
  4. Spread half of the Cool Whip evenly over the fudge layer.
  5. Crumble half of the Oreo cookies on top of the Cool Whip layer.
  6. Repeat the layers with the remaining cake, pudding, hot fudge, Cool Whip, and Oreos until all components are used.
  7. If desired, decorate the top with gummy worms for a fun finish.
  8. Cover and refrigerate for at least two hours before serving to let the flavors meld together.

Notes

You can substitute a store-bought chocolate cake with homemade chocolate cake, or use brownies for a richer flavor. You can also add layers of fruit like strawberries or bananas for a fresh contrast.
