  • 2 slices slices of cheese (mozzarella or cheddar) You can substitute with a dairy-free alternative.
  • 1/4 cup pizza sauce Pair with zesty pizza sauce for dipping.
  • 1/4 cup pepperoni or your favorite pizza toppings Feel free to mix in sautéed veggies for additional flavor.
  • to taste Butter for grilling Use as needed for grilling.

Method

Preparation
  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Place one slice of bread, butter side down, in the skillet.
  4. Layer cheese, pizza sauce, and your choice of toppings on top of the bread in the skillet.
  5. Place the second slice of bread on top, butter side up.
  6. Grill until the bottom side is golden brown, then carefully flip the sandwich and grill the other side until the cheese is melted and gooey.
  7. Remove from skillet, let it cool slightly, cut in half, and serve warm.
