Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until browned and cooked through.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  4. If using, layer the bread slices in a greased baking dish.
  5. Add the cooked sausage, optional vegetables, and cheese evenly over the bread in the baking dish.
  6. Pour the egg mixture over the top, ensuring everything is evenly covered.
Baking
  1. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the eggs are fully set and the top is gently golden brown.
  2. Let cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving warm.
